"weekend"

September 08, 2002~9:42 p.m.

We had a great time last night at the concert. We ended up getting ebtter seats than we had reserved. The Dr. my mom works for wasn't using his so we got their's. They are on the 2nd row in teh center. WooHoo! We ended up being able to sell ours to a guy in line, so it didn't cost us anything extra.

We thought it started at 6:30 but it started at 6:00 so we missed the first part of Cletus. But he came on after Doug again so we got to see him. he was good and funny. Doug Stone was pretty good. He seemed to be going through amidlife crisis. Earring, trying to sway his hips and such.

John Anderson was good. He doesn't work the crowd as much though. He just sings. Which is enough for him.

We went to Denny's for a late night dinner and it was awful...again. We never get good service. One time the toilets were backing up and the place stunk. The last time the air conditioner was broken and it was hot. This time the waitress hardly checked on us. Our food took forever to come out and it came all at once, not the appetizer first. She left the empty glasses on the table so we had 6 glasses on the table at the end. Geesh. The Pigeon Forge Denny's is so much better than this one.

Today we had an awesome service at church. It was dedicated to the 9-11 tragedy. A policeman from the NYPD was there and gave his testimony. It was strange to hear the Brooklyn accent. But he was so nice and have a good talk. He brought some posters to share. We had invited all service personel to the service and we had about 3 rows of firefighters and about a row of police and then a few others like 911 service people and the military. It was awesome to see them all and to show them how much we appreciate them. They showed a lot of videos of things having to do with the event. And they had this big HUGE flag that covered the back wall. At one point while the choir was singing, a breeze must have caught the flag because the bottom started to flail. I thought that was so cool.

After lunch, we took B home with us. He wanted to play games. But he had to take a nap first. Well, he never did so he never got to play games. I kept nodding off, but he kept hidding under the covers and playing with the dog. Eventually I curled up and put my arm around him and he nodded off. In time to get 15 minutes of a nap. Just in time to leave for AWANA. He gets to attend this year. He is almost 4 so he goes in the Cubbies class. So we took him with us.

Our classes were great. Terri and I have 4 girls in our class and Tim and Andy have 3 boys. I know we will get more soon. Our girls did great and all but one finished the starter book tonight. She was late so I know she will catch up.

It is hard to believe the weekend is about over. I wish it wasn't. But school isn't bad this year, so I enjoy it. Just miss the sleeping in.

I have GOT to go to the gym tomorrow. No excuses!
