"All the time!"
September 12, 2001~9:02 p.m.

Today was a day full of news, new things about what happened yesterday. It is amazing that they can find out so much about these people. That they know about them taking flight classes, they know about the rental cars.
Now they are banning all knives, even plastic ones from airports. What is really sad is why did it have to take this? We should have been this careful all along. We should not have allowed people to board with pocket knives, toolboxes, etc. We should not have allowed such relaxed asmission on our planes.
Why did it have to take this to "tighten down" security on military bases? It should be like this every day, all day! We should always be checking cars, checking ID's.
We have a habit of letting our guard down when things are going right, and then it backfires on us.
When all the shootings happened in school, we realized we had to get safer. We have instituted safety plans in our school because of it. But does it have to take a tragedy to make us careful? We should always be careful. Never knowing who is in the shadows, who is hiding, who is in plain view! Who is planning to hurt us, who is planning to hurt our country.
Everyone is flying flags now. We have one out now too. Why don't we do that EVER SINGLE DAY of out lives? Why are we not proud to show we are Americans until a tragedy happens? I'm guilty of it. Wenever put a flag out until July 4th or something. And it was all tattered. Why was I not proud enough to fly a flag every day for support of my country? Why did we have to rush out to purchase one that was more respectable than the tattered one? We should be proud, supportive of our country every day. We need to continue this support. Why does it take this to have lines at the blood bank? We should have lines EVERY day at the blood bank, eager to give blood. We should be eager every day of our lives to help, to be supportive. Why does it take this to make it happen.
Let's not forget that it can happen any time, any day. That we need to have our guard up. We need to pray all the time. We need to be aware all the time. ALL THE TIME!
