"cut again"
December 03, 2002~8:50 a.m.

Well, they were cut again last night. We did call the sheriff's office last night to report the cuttings and the guy said he would watch out and suggested the video tape too. We tried setting it up but it was so hard to see and we knew once we turned the lights out it was so dark you couldn't see anyway. So we didn't use the cam corder but Tim slept in the guest room which is on that side of the house right where the lights are cut and opened the window a tad (it was cold!). He slept off and on and would check the lights every now and then.
Well he came to bed about 3:15 and said they had been cut. He had checked them at 2:30 and they were allright and he went to watch some TV and he checked them at 3:15 and they were cut. He called the sheriff's office again and the same guy was on duty until 7 am this morning. He was kind of pissed off too that someone would do that. He asked if we had a falling out with a neighbor or had kids that might have had an argument with another kid. All the answers were no. Why in the world would someone get up at 3:00 AM to do this malicious act? WHY? I keep going over and over in my head...Why? My husband works so hard on these lights because he loves to see people smile and kids adore the lights.
So Tim is contemplating sleeping from 10-2 tonight and then getting up and watching again. The deputy said he is on shift again until 7 am tonight and he is planning to park down the road and watch the house unless he gets a call. So we will see.
I keep thinking I want to write a note and place it there and ask this person WHY? Why are you doing such a thing? What have we done? This is a mystery to us. I know it is tearing Tim's spirit down. I hope we get to the bottom of it so he will not worry about this anymore. He has today off so I hope he gets some more sleep in from the lack of last night.
