"a painting we will go..."

April 28, 2005~4:37 a.m.

We are painting again. Not the nursery again, but now the computer room/going to also be the play room. Every room in this house was a light neutral color except the kitchen, dining, our bedroom and bathroom are yellow.
So lately we have painted the nursery "slice" which is a golden, warm yellow. It is so beautiful. Now we are painting the computer room a sea green called evergreen glen I think. It started out wanting to find a sage green and then we looked and everything was either too light or too olive. I ended up picking this color. I was afraid it was too dark for the small room, but I really like it. It reminds me of a beach cottage because it looks so good with the white trim, door, and blinds. It makes me think of a turtle at the sea. Just very nice. We are almost finished. DH just is going to go over the main part one more time for the second coat. He did the cutting in second coat yesterday morning before work. I haven't taken as much control on this one, besides picking out the color. I'm letting him handle the finishing up. He is happy. We bought a new desk from his work. It will be in stock in the next 3 weeks or so. It will look so pretty against this wall color. Then we will have the comfy chair in one corner and the white armoire from the baby's room against the wall for the tv/vcr for her and all her toys in it. This will eventually be moved back to her room once she is out of a crib and we move her bed back in that we stored at work. We are also going to get a bookshelf to put in here for storing my books and stuff. We will also pull the mini recliner back out of the attic. K2 loved sitting in it to watch tv. She would recline back and put her blankie on her and watch tv. She fell asleep many times in that chair for a nap on Saturdays. We have two of them, as they were originally my nephews' when they were little. They are now almost 15 and 13 years old. So they will be the chairs that go through the grandkids. I don't even know if they make kid recliners anymore.
So anyway, it seems like we are redoing the entire house before Katie gets here. I guess it is a good thing. It keeps us busy, it makes the house look fresh, it is something that needed to be done, and we won't have time to do it once she is here!
Seeing as April is almost over, we are so much closer to her being with us. Last night DH said, we are one day closer! Oh, to hold her in my arms!
