"so much better day!"

June 14, 2004~10:28 p.m.

We had a pretty good day. Baby had her check up this morning. I was rushign to get everyone ready in time and me when babysitter called and said she was about to run errands and would come pick up Little One on her way to help me out so I wouldn't have to drive to her house. How sweet, so I took her up on that offer. It sure saved me time and lots of rushing.

Baby did wonderfully during her appt. It was really her nap time so she was pretty quiet compared to her visit two months ago. She weighed 16.5 pounds-which was a total shocker. I thought it would be closer to 20. She only gained about 2 pounds in the past two months. I guess since she just started crawling and sitting up so much she is using more energy, cause the girl is eating and drinking a ton! She was 25 1/2 inches long so she grew an inch or so I think. I need to get her stuff out to compare.

Everything was fine. She said her belly button is fine and unless she goes back home to her mom or is adopted that there is nothing medically to do for the excess skin. She said that medi-ca id will not do anything till she is older anyway so the mom can't even have it done earlier since it is more cosmetic. She did say the hole was tiny and it was fine. Her little birthmark is fine also. I was worried since it was getting larger but she said it will continue to grow and she will just have a large one as she gets older. If it was not for these two things, she would be just too perfect so I guess God had to put some humility in her so she wouldn't get a big head as she got older! LOL

She had one shot and her hemoglobin checked. Everything went fine and crying was minimal. She found the band aid on her finger a neat thing and was marveled by it. She also got prescriptions for flouride drops since we are on comm. water. I picked those up and she was a heartbreaker in the pharmacy. She flirted with a guy and smiled lovingly at an older lady that talked to her.

We came home to a long nap! Ahhhhhh... This afternoon we picked up LO and she had a good day as well. We got home right as Dad was and so we decided since it was early we would go out to eat. Both girls were so good. I fed baby her jar food and LO ate a grilled cheese. She ate better tonight than she ever has out to eat. She finished her whole sandwich and ate chips. They both got balloons and baby kept her's on her arm the whole time to the car. Afterwards, we celebrated by going out to get icecream. We have never taken them so we decided to since LO was being so well behaved and the dr. said baby could have ice cream now. Yes, Mrs. skinny minny dr. that is a particular about weight, said the baby can have ice cream. I was floored. She also said she can have mashed potatoes that we eat and the biter biscuits-which I hate! They are so messy. She said stick her in the tub naked to eat them!

Oh, and as for the ice cream, baby didn't even like it. She liked it a month ago at LO's birhtday but now that she is allowed to have it, she didn't like it. It was too cold for her I guess. We will try again on another special occasion.

And both kids were sleepy on the way home. They both woke up but we got them to bed without too much fuss. So this was a most awesome day. Thank you Jesus!
