"New Year synopsis"

January 01, 2002~4:19 p.m.

Last night we had a great time. We went to the home of a couple from Sunday School. There were about 6 other couples there as well. It was the "usual" crowd at our get togethers, the ones that really began in the class from earlier on. A few were not able to make it though. But we had a blast. It truely shows we can have fun with out drinking in a good environment. We are always laughing so hard, I am glad they don't have neighbors on one side of them to disturb!

We started out by eating different snack food and such that everyone brought. Then we played a coupel rounds of Taboo. We love that game and the way we split up the teams is boys against girls. Of course the girls always win! LOL Even though the guys "were" cheating! Well we did too, but unknowingly. LOL Anyway we went through a couple rounds of that until we were so far ahead it was too painful to put the guys through much more. We needed to cool down also, we were laughing so hard.

Then we all watched the video H. took of our games and such and we were laughing even more at that because we could see what everyone was doing. It was hilarious.

After that we played a couple rounds of "The psychiatrist" where one person has to diagnose what is wrong with us and we all have the same problem. The first problem we all had was we thought we were the person to our right. The next problem was we all thought we were the person that was the psychitrist. The last thing was we all thought we were what we were sitting on. It was someting a lot of us have not played so it was just different. Then there were about 5 minutes left to midnight so we stopped.

Tim and I had brought some sparkling grape juice and so we poured a glass for everyone and we watched Dick Clark count down to midnight. Then we all yelled, kissed our spouses, hugged and celebrated. L. (it was her house) went and got a pot and spoon to bang. It is a tradition in her family to do that.

Then we went outside to hear fireworks, which sounded more like gun shots. I guess it was a redneck firework! Then some of them ran around the lot next door screaming and celebrating and acting goofy. We just had a ball. We finally came home about 12:30 or so. Tim had to work today so we needed to get home, celebrate together ourselves ;) and get to sleep.

And I have done barely nothing all day today! I did take decorations off the tree and the lights. I'll have to get Tim to help me get the tree outside.

Aren't you supposed to burn a stem from the bottom on New Years? I guess we will tonight. I think my parents are planning to BBQ tonight so we will go over there I think. Not sure yet...

Do I really have to go back to work in two days?????

UGH!!!
