"pet peeve for the day"

September 07, 2003~10:47 p.m.

We have been real good about not eating out this week. We did go out last night but we used a ceritifcate we had for 2 free meals so it only cost us the tip. I've been pretty inventive on some meals. haha. I've done breakfast twice, which we enjoy. I also enjoy it because with the left over bacon, I use to make us killer bacon, cheese, and ham sandwiches. The ones I made last week were so awesome I didn't want to eat the last bite cause I wanted it to last! So I did that today and I made us sandwiches for tomorrow from the leftover bacon. I had a little chicken left over from a rotisserie chicken and put a little of that on there as well. Ummm, it is going to be soooo good tomorrow for lunch. We are both not buying our lunches. More so him, as he had the time and the lunch hour and I don't. He used to go buy fast food about every day, which is costly and unhealthy. So this way, we are saving money and helping our health. The only time we are eating lunch out during the week is Friday's when he comes to eat with my at school. This past Friday was pizza day so we enjoyed lunch for both of us for $4.75-can't beat that. This coming Friday is sandwiches so I think I'll ask him to pick lunch up for us. That is making Fridays so special for us. Everyone at work asks him when he gets back what we had.

So today I cooked breakfast for lunch after church. And for dinner I made a chicken thingy. I took chicken breast and covered them in a mayo and mustard mixture and then dipped them in ground up Ritz crackers (every southern belle should have these in her kitchen) and had mixed some onion and garlic powder and parsley in it. I then backed them in the oven. They were pretty good and he said it was a keeper as far as making the recipe again. Cool.

So we are saving money on that front.

I did run into a friend of mine that is a social worker. She knows had been ttc and might be thinking about adoption. I told her about what had transpired lately and she said she can do our homestudy if we adopt in state. She also is way cheaper than the state but knows some way to get the state to pay for it. She will gather that info for me this week. Also, she said she just found an infant for a couple that had already asked her. It is very rare for her to have found a caucasion one but she did. So maybe through her resources and the attorney she knows, we could find a baby here in the states. So major prayers are going to be said about that. I think once we get the ball rolling, that things will start popping up.

I finally got hopping on the treadmill today. I really need to use it more. I also did some squats to see how it would feel on my legs. I got a little weak doing them. Whew. I really need to do this more often. I've gotten soft.

I just love, love my hair. I had it done yesterday and the color is great NO more grey! It is fabulous! It was so much easier to fix this morning.

I also love my toes. I used a new British collection color called Edin-burgundy. I almost went with a lighter color like I had been doing, but decided on red instead.

But what is it with these manicurist smoking so much now? This is the second place I've gone where the person goes outside WHILE I'm sitting there and smokes and then returns smelling so God awful like smoke it about makes me gag! And this time was at the fancy poutique in town that specializes in pedicures. I never would have thought it there. She went outside while this stuff soaked on my feet and I could see her with the phone and smoking and drinking her drink. Then as she came in she checked her profile in the door's reflection and came back in and smelled so much like smoke. Ugh! This is so rude. I think if you work with the public you should not smoke during your work time because you may not think it, but you smell JUST like the smoke when you walk back in. It is all over you and we can smell it. Ugh. That is my pet peeve for the day.

Oh, we have also decided to change our December vacation plans again Well, T has. He thinks that we should do something that we would not be able to do with a baby, so in case we have one by spring or getting close to that, we will be able to take a vacation where it was baby friendly. Cabins are baby friendly but casinos are not baby friendly. So I think we are doing Vegas for Christmas. Two Chevy Chase movies rolled into one. This way his parents can come with us also. They were pretty bummed that I wanted the cabin thing for just us two and not to include them. So I guess a Vegas trip would thrill them to no end. I wonder what the weather is like in December in the desert. So I guess no cabin for us :( but Vegas here we come.
