"the explanation."

August 11, 2004~11:21 a.m.

I guess I should clarify our daycare situation.

There are three sisters, let's call them A, B, and C. Well they attend church with us. When I was looking for daycare for Baby and K4 back in December, I asked around at church and B's name came up as she kept a brother and sister at her home. I called her and found out that yes, she does keep these two children, but starting in January, she and her sister, A, were starting a day care at A's home. How perfect could that be huh? So we signed up with them. A has tremendous experience with preshoolers. She has a small MIL home built onto her's and so that is where it was held. It wasn't too far from our house and they loved our kids and were flexible. They said they will take care of whichever fost@r children we have in our home.

So things were going well, but the church decided that they would open up a pre school this coming school year. They wanted A to be director of it since she has so much experience teaching at he@d st@rt. She helped arrange and write the curriculum for the pre school at our church and has pretty much done most of the work to get it started for ages 2-5. She said though, that they would arrange everything to take care of Baby and Little One.

Little One's class only meets M, W, And F. So on T & Th, she goes to their MMO. I decided to send her to this as I wanted her days to be consistent, going to school each day.

Actually her teacher for pre school is sister B. There are only 5 kids in the class, so it is small and intimate. At noon, B takes Little One and the other little girl she watches who is in the 4 year old program home with her. Her sister, C, is meanwhile at B's house watching Baby and the other little girl's brother.

So that is how we have it arranged. B takes the girls each morning with her to school while C stays at home with the baby and the little boy. Afternoons B stays at the house with the kids. Sister A is keeping some kids at her home as well. I think 3. She takes them after she finishes at noon as well.

So that is how everything works. Hope that is explained. The girls are still with the same people, just LO goes to a different setting in the mornings. The cost is basically the same. It is just about 2-3 dollars more because of how they tried to even the dollar amount out with LO being at church in the morning. I also had to pay a registration fee and we have to pay a supply fee in August and january for the school to help replinish supplies like art supplies, snacks and such.

We hope it will work out and that LO can learn some structure with a class. It is good for her to be in a classroom at a table with chairs and have learning centers and such. It is also good for her to be around other kids and learn to get along. We are expecting it to do well.

So there is the answer Leslie
