"newest week update"
March 02, 2004~3:20 p.m.

The 72 hour hearing was yesterday for our new Little One. The judge said that it is almost certain that at the 10 day hearing that they will have to have 6 months of drug free screenings before custody will change. Sooooo, unless something changes, we will probably have an infant and toddler for the next 6 months.
The good thing is the toddler is easy to establish routines with and does pretty well. I've actually gotten her to go potty 3 times now. When she does, it is so cute because as the p@@-p@@ comes out, she looks up and opens her mouth wide and goes "Oooooohhh!!!" in exclamation. We clap and get all excited for her. Now if we could just get her to do p00p's on the potty also. She knows when she goes so I know that is a good sign she is about ready. Only thing is she likes to call it "ca-c@" and I'm having to retrain her to call it a more acceptable word.
She also gets along with kitty better. Every day she comes in the door from school she calls out "Here Kitty!"
Tonight we have a C P R class to finalize our files. That is the only thing we are lacking is an updated certification in that. It is tonight and Thursday night. They also have a water s@fety class next Saturday we need to go to. It is $50 a person! Wow! It is also about 45 minutes from here as we don't have any heated pools in our town. So we go to a smaller town that is with the times and has one. We need that since we have the pool. Then we should have all our records straight. Not that it is preventing us from getting foster children as they have kept our home filled ever since we have started.
I love being a momma and DH is a wonderful daddy. He is just ga-ga over these children and just adores them to pieces. He likes to show them off at work and takes such pride in them! I am a very blessed woman and these children are blessed to have him in their lives! I couldn't have found a better man. I'm just sorry I could nor provide him a child of our own without having to go through all this. I wish we could have a child together without the heartache of what we are doing now. But God must want us to be influences in children's lives and touch them. We are also getting lots of practice on varrying age levels.
A friend mentioned also that the relationship between my mom has been so much better lately. Children are wonders at bringing people together.
